Dental Sealants Lindsey A. Robinson DDS Pediatric and Endodontic Dentistry CA 95945-7224Are you not sure when you should talk to your child's pediatric dentist about dental sealants and if they are a good thing for your child to get? Will they hurt and how long will they keep?

Are you not sure what dental sealants is or when your child should get dental sealants? We are going to clarify when your child should get dental sealants and what dental sealants are.

What Are Dental Sealants and When Should They Be Applied?

Dental Sealants are made up with liquid resin, which is then brushed onto your child's teeth and it will harden into a hard, plastic-like material. Dental sealant is a barrier placed over your child's tooth to keep food that causes cavities out.

They also need to continue to brushing and flossing their teeth morning and night. Dental sealants just provide additional protection. Dental sealants should be applied as soon as their permanent teeth come it. Most kids would be around the age of six years old and even up to fourteen years old. Most decaying of the tooth occurs in the grooves of their molars.

This is a very painless dental procedure for your child. Dental Sealants can last up to ten years. Your child's dentist should check them at every cleaning to make sure they are still holding up.

If they noticed that the dental sealants are wearing faster than normal, more than likely they will add more sealants to their teeth. Dental sealants are the way to go if you are worried about your child's teeth decaying.

If you are still not sure about dental sealant and if they are the right choice for your child, please contact our office to find out more information about dental sealants.
